In a resounding victory for U.S. servicemen and women, the U.S. aerospace industry and American workers, the Air Force today selected the multi-mission Boeing NewGen Tanker as its next-generation aerial refueling tanker, beginning the long-awaited replacement of its KC-135 fleet.

Boeing will build the KC-46A tankers using a low-risk manufacturing approach, a trained and experienced U.S. work force, and existing Boeing facilities in Washington state and Kansas.
The KC-46A tanker also will fuel the U.S. economy as it will support approximately 50,000 total U.S. jobs with Boeing and more than 800 suppliers in over 40 states.
